Flower Couture brings us IMPERMANENCE II — Spring Living Sculpture, marking their second floral design showcase in their 2016 Series at The Dryansky.

Join us for an intimate floral runway showcase and live demo inspired by Ikebana – the Japanese art of flower arrangement – and the impressionist nature photographs of Hovering on exhibit by Adobe scientist Gregg WilenskyFlower Couture is about complementing art, traditional modeling, fashion & photography with the inherent grace of living plants. Don't miss this special event! Limited seating available. Artist Gregg Wilensky will also be in attendance and will give a short talk.

ARTIST TALK: GREGG WILENSKY | HOVERING
WEDNESDAY, May 7, 7–8PM

Theoretical Physicist and Senior Principal Scientist at Adobe Gregg Wilensky will be guiding an informal walk-through of his solo show Hovering: Photographs at the Boundaries of Nature. The talk aims to provide deeper understanding to Gregg Wilensky’s contemplative photographic compositions that explore the boundaries between faithful representation and the abstracted image.
A Q&A session will follow the talk.

IN CONVERSATION: TIMOTHY FERRIS & NEIL FOLBERG DISCUSS CELESTIAL NIGHTS

Pulitzer Prize nominated science writer and documentary filmmaker, Timothy Ferris will be joining us in conversation with Jerusalem-based photographer Neil Folberg to discuss his new solo exhibition Celestial Nights. A Q&A session will follow the talk.

Bay Area trio Clifford Brown 3 will be pairing the sounds of Bebop and Soul with Stephen Albair's surreal and vivid photography from his current solo exhibition, Private Views, Hidden Reflections. In going along with the current exhibition's theme of displaced time and nostalgia, The Clifford Brown 3 will be playing music dating between 1952-1978 composed by Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jay Jay Johnson, Clifford Brown (Sr) and Kenny Burrell.

Our signature musical series, the Art+Jazz Young Masters Series brings together our art exhibitions paired with musical jazz performances that take place during the course of the gallery's yearly programming. Inspired by the unique and diverse artists represented within its walls, the gallery showcases local, young, up-and-coming musicians who perform with the spirit of the visual art on exhibit, creating an atmosphere of energy and conviviality within the community.

ARTIST TALKS AND LECTURES
Coinciding with the gallery's yearly programming, exhibiting artists and industry guests
are invited to give subject specific lectures, Q&A discussions and intimate artist talks. These events allow us to gain a deeper understanding of our immediate and global world-view within the arts, that include behind-the-scenes insights to our artists' creative practice, book launches and signings, lectures on art and cultural history, live discussions between authors, curators, art historians and more.
